The 'fabric' for this lovely top was found in an evening gown & jacket that I had made and worn all I cared to (or grew out of!).  It is such a lovely, unique fabric that I just couldn't resist putting it into my Taupe Up-Cycle Bin!  Adding some antique lace doily at the flared sleeves and some antique abalone buttons was all it needed.  
 
The back of this garment is hemmed by hand, but the front and side godet lowermost edges are cut edges - which is ideal for this type of fabric.  Especially flattering is the empire curved seamline under the bust combined with the full back - helping it to accommodate many sizes.  The side godets (13" each at hemline" add to the 'swing' of this garment that would be great for dancing!  Why do I mention dancing so often?  Because ballroom dancing is a hobby of my hubby and I since 1990!  
One-of-a-kind garment.

CARE:  I recommend hand washing - mainly due to the abalone antique buttons - so that they don't crack.  Line Dry.
