After earning my Home Economics degree from the University of Illinois, I have worked as an interior designer, managed a craft store, offered custom dressmaking services and sold fabrics from my home. I fell in love with heirloom sewing and launched a line of patterns for women within the heirloom industry. That led to opening my retail fabric/sewing machine dealership storefront in1990, closing 13 years later to go totally E-commerce with my website.

I began to design and sell artistic jackets on a sweatshirt base. That led to many years focusing on sweatshirt makeovers, what I called 'Creative Sweatshirt Jackets', and publication of patterns, books, and DVDs. From 2005 through spring, 2018 I traveled extensively teaching and vending at sewing expos, shops, and guilds around the country.

I now focus on teaching ALL ages at my Sunroom Sewing Studio in Jackson, TN, and through my YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/londasews

When I'm not teaching, my current passion is designing CREATIVE Garments, with a strong focus on up-cycle sewing - taking commissioned work for specific creative sewing projects.  Book me to create YOUR one-of-a-kind garment using current clothing, textiles - even garments and linens from your family or loved ones who have passed on.  As of November, 2024, many of my creations A Londa Original are available at Taylor Laine Boutique Shoppes, 111 N. Liberty, Jackson, TN.  They are also found HERE at my website, and I am happy to go retrieve a garment from the Boutique if it is still available - I try my best to keep my site current with sales at the Boutique.

What I love most about my business is teaching and sharing the designs and the techniques  I've developed - to ALL ages! Subscribe to my Blog and You-Tube Channel for how-to's and inspiration. My website mission is to offer related and hard-to-find sewing products with exceptional personal service. My customers are my friends - and I LOVE to answer any and all questions regarding my products and sewing techniques. You can reach me at 217-369-4687 (CST) or email me at londasews@gmail.com
