Elvis Presley T-Shirt Red Up-cycled Jacket

Elvis Presley T-Shirt Red Up-cycled Jacket - Size Large Misses 
 
This one-of-a-kind jacket is the result of an up-cycle sewing project using an Elvis T-Shirt.   The cotton T-Shirt is combined with a pair of red polyester parachute pants I selected at an outlet store because the red color went perfectly with the T-shirt rose and red hues.  Contrary to how women's jackets normally lap - right over left, I created this jacket in the opposite manner due to the direction Elvis is facing on the T-shirt.   To add body to the left front of the jacket, I 'quilted' it to another T.  The right front and sides of the back yoke is created from an acrylic knit found in my collection.  Also found in my collection is the collar fabric:  a perfect mix of colors.  The red parachute pants had very interesting seaming, which is revealed on the jacket's back - pockets and all at the back hemline.  The pant legs provided the perfect 'fabric' to create the sleeves, the bottom drawstring leg finish becoming the finish of the sleeves.  An antique red button is featured as the closure, looped creatively with a twisted cord and a large hook and eye additionally serves to 'close' the jacket.  This jacket is fully lined using a red polyester lining and including bound armholes.
The design of this jacket is a Vogue Julio Csar design that I'd made previously.  I loved the collar silhouette, so it seemed the perfect design for this one-of-a-kind creation.

Regarding fit, there is next to no fit to this jacket other than shoulder/skeletal size - see Finished Garment Measurements #7 & 9.  It was created using a size 16-18 Vogue pattern listing bust measurement as 36-38"

CARE RECOMMENDATION
Since reds likely 'run', I did take time to 'set' the dyes in fabric.  However, due to the lining and fabric combination, I would highly recommend dry cleaning this garment, or gently hand-washing in cold water, line dry, and careful steam iron touchup.
