It's hot, hot, hot here in central Illinois...my garden is definitely playing 2nd fiddle to my cool basement and sewing again!  I have some HOT deals for you too!  Obviously so many of you appreciated a discount on patterns with my last sale - that I was sewwww busy filling orders I didn't get near the sewing done I had planned!  Anyway... here are 2 new DEALS for you:

My 'Family' of sewing-related websites are working together nicely!  I am assembling mailing lists for them as well, so please understand you may receive portions of this newsletter in duplicate if you are on more than one mailing list.    I want you to know about a special on

Londa's Clover Notions   and   Londa's Favorite Sewing Notions

FREE Wool Wad Pincushion

with a $30 purchase on either site.

Offer good through August 31, 2005

While I can not combine orders from the sites to get to the $30,

As stated on all of my sites - whenever you order from more than one website on the same day, I will automatically combine your orders for shipping, and send along a generously appropriate  shipping rebate check with your order! :)

The sad fact of my current 'professional' life right now is that I work in my basement - alone...hence, I just don't need clothes!  It feeds my creative soul to 'marry' pattern and fabric for you.  Sew...here are my latest creative 'marriages' of pattern and fabric to inspire you.  Most of these pieces do not have much yardage available, and some are also good sized remnants, so if you're intrigued - click on the links and don't delay ordering!

Plaza Jacket & Pant               Charles Chang Lima Pinstripe

Plaza from The Sewing Workshop executed in this great wool pinstripe that is reversible from a tweedy heathery brown on one side to a grey-ish pinstripe on the other would be dynamite with the pinstripe for the outer on both jacket and pant, but for the hems on the jacket - pulling the hems to the outside to create a contrast band.

Retro Jacket from Loes Hinse is still one of my favorites.   When I created mine way back in Spring of 2002, the idea of fraying a strip and inserting it into the edges seemed to be 'original and mine'.  I suppose that in the last season, all the designers saw my jacket and copied me!  Yea...right!     Picture this done with any of the following fabrics:

Lima Black White Texture      Tahari Grey Tweed         Brown Tweed - Lima

Any of the Italian Wools...

All of these fabrics have wonderful selvages you could cut to insert in the seams! I just don't like putting this trim around the hips - too 'eye-catching' for my 40" + hips.  Now - if they were 35" or so - maybe.....

For a very interesting texture combination, I'd pair some classis SoHo Pants from The Textile Studio with this the Lima Tweed with this amazing stretch twill from Charles Chang Lima...(which also comes in Maroon  - another great Fall color)

                                 Lima Brown Stretch TweedyTwill

Speaking of designers - you can read about my Chicago Gold Coast Snoop shopping at my blog - http://www.londascreativesewingchatterblog.blogspot.com - the idea of little black lace ruffles sticking out of necks, around hems, etc was everywhere...  Remember my 'saving' of too small sleeves on Hinse's Zipper Jacket? (now a discontinued pattern by the way - I have 1 left in stock).

                                                                  Lima Bow Lace

I have that "Strolling Cotton" cotton/lycra print back in stock, and this great Bow Lace plus others from Charles Chang Lima.  Picture that Bow lace over a print silk charmeuse for a blouse - or how about cut into some extra ruffles on a skirt - or an overskirt of the lace?  Funky and fun.... strike out - be different!

I sold beaucoup of Hinse's Boot Skirt during my sale.  I 'see'

Saddle Suede                    Floral Lace               Toast Slinky

Saddle Suede or Lace Suede in a skirt - with the opposite one in a jacket for a great look this fall.  Browns are going to be Big, Big, Big...  .  I've paired those 3 above together - and though the Toast Slinky image is too taupe - it is a much, much warmer brown - I'm well aware that many wouldn't think these 3 fabrics 'match'.  May I encourgae you to think as a "Designer"?  You are not just a home sewer - you are a designer!  That is not your sewing room - it is your "Studio"!!!! Designers don't get hung up on things matching exactly!!!! If you want to consider this grouping, but want samples, just email me and I'll get them out to you.  I have a limited quantity cut though...so don't delay.   Oh - this one works in great as well...

                                              Neutral Check

Well.....my winter 'wear-everywhere Berber Coat' as seen here will definitely need replacing this year (I've worn it constantly for 3 years now!).  I created this one from Lois Ericson's Over & Under (cutting and inserting the sleeves from the top into the vest).

When these coordinated samples arrived labeled "Coldwater Creek" I gasped with delight...

                              Fancy Fleece            Floral Fleece

Use Over & Under as I did, or Nantucket from L.J. Designs - perhaps in one size larger than normal if to be worn as a coat, or Heartfelt Coat from Revisions both look like great candidates too...

Battling for the fabric I'll use is also Sage Texture

Now that I've vicariously sewn....it's time to pack up orders and get to SEWING!
