Lines from Londa

January 9, 2005

I've just finished a VERY fun job of uploading every single one of the Folkwear Patterns to my website.  It took me much longer than I ever dreamed - mainly because I kept getting diverted drooling over the photos and line drawings and 'imagining' all the fun I will have testing out some of these great historical patterns for my value-added Londa's 2 Cents Worth booklets.

Folkwear  patterns have been around for a long time - and the company has undergone many changes, but I'm convinced that the current ownership will be great to work with.  I'm proud to add them to my pattern line-up and encourage you to enjoy looking them over. You will enjoy seeing fashions from all over the world and through history:  everything from a Japanese Interior #305 to an Edwardian Bridal Gown #227.  My favorites are the Armistice Blouse #210, the Gibson Girl Blouse #205 (I still am drawn to the heirloom look!),  and the Tibetan Panel Coat  #118.  I used the Garden Party Dress #220 to create a lovely 'different' wedding dress for a customer years ago from a floral chiffon - what a fun project that was!  I do hope you take time to peruse this collection.

You'll see that I've listed them differently - using the photograph for the first image so you can see what it 'really' looks like.  If you click on the blue name of the pattern below the photo, it will take you to a revealing line drawing.  Clicking then on 'more views' will take you to the pattern cover.

On a personal note - may I just share that my family is especially thankful for God's special care... on New Year's Eve, while driving for a Christmas with his side of the family - my husband experienced some 'odd' ache in both biceps.  He also was kinda sweaty for a short time - but then he had a sweater on and it was a sunny day.  None-the-less, we did heed the signs and stopped at the closest hospital.  To make a long story short - he had, indeed, had a heart attack.  Getting him quickly to care and medication made a huge difference in the outcome!   Last Monday then he had an Angioplasty and stint inserted.  Needless to say - we are SEW Grateful.  To say that the food in the house is different now is an understatement!  Some of my  time will be well used to learn to cook MUCH differently.  :)

Anyway - I share this just to caution any of you to take any arm/chest/jaw pain VERY seriously - and to cut the fat in your diets!
