A Trunk Show is Available! Write Londa at londa@londas-sewing.com for details.Â

"Londa,
I couldn't let another day go by without thanking you for the trunk show!
Here's what we did to make it a success.
To complement your patterns and jackets, IÂ had special handmade
buttons, packets of hand dyed silk and fiber bundles as well as high-quality
sweatshirts in a variety of colors available in the store, all displayed
together.
We started out with a "style show"Â where the twenty or so attendees
modeled the jackets, compared your samples to the patterns, looked at the
sweatshirts and matched buttons, fibers and silks to them as well as looking for
fabric throughout the store that would work. Participants were encouraged to
sign up for one of the two classes I had scheduled last quarter. If I had
it to do again, I would advertise it a bit differently as some attendees
expected a sit-down style show. Instead, I would describe it as a try-it-on
and build-your-own jacket kit party.
I'm lucky to have a costume designer working for me who taught the classes.
She was able to guide the students in selection of trims and styles that would
work well together. She also was a great help to them in de-constructing the
sweatshirts and fitting them to each individual's body. Although I only
scheduled a one-day class last quarter, it wasn't sufficient for the students.
This quarter I've scheduled two classes again, but they're two-part classes and
I've also scheduled the instructor for extra cost "sit and sew" sessions where
the students can come work on their projects.
So, to sum it up -- our success came from having a wide variety of
your terrific patterns to select from, high quality sweatshirts and
findings and a super instructor. Without all of these elements, I don't think
we'd have been nearly as successful.
Good luck with your business!
